I used Gellux and water decals to create this little masterpiece, which I thought looked very effective!

Fancy French - Christmas Twist

I have a client who wanted something subtle, so I went for a lovely subtle Gellux French Manicure with some gorgeous little Christmas tree water decals.

Hopefully if hew boss spots them, she will think they are far to gorgeous to be mad at her :)

Fancy French with a Christmas Twist

One of my staff (from my day job as a nursery manager) has always bitten her nails.

And I mean BITTEN. They were short, stumpy and very unhealthy.

She decided she wanted to have acrylics on for her wedding and while they were on, got out the habit of biting. When she removed them, she loved that her nails, albeit wrecked from the acrylics (she went to a NSS) were long.

So, the biting stopped. Once she had proved to me that she really had broken the habit, I offered to do her a 5 week course of IBX and also gave her some quality cuticle oil. 

She applied the cuticle oil twice a day as directed and with the IBX treatment her nails began to thrive.

My regret it not taking a before and after photo, as even I didn't expect the results that became apparent after 3 weeks. Application of IBX is once weekly.

IBX works from WITHIN the nail. It truly is the most magnificent treatment. My client is SO proud of her nails now. No more hiding in pockets or gloves, and seeing her face light up when she sees them makes my day. She has done all the hard work in breaking the habit of biting. To be able to see the difference really is rewarding.

She wanted some party nails. She has never before had a Gel Polish manicure, much less a french one!

Here, I am proud to present her nails. Fancy French polished with O.P.I. Gel colour Pedal Faster Suzi, with Gellux Silver on the ring finger - glitter pressed into the tacky layer. Topped off with MoYou Festive Stamping Plate.

O.P.I. - Gargantuan Green Grape and Gellux Silver Crystal

My client wanted something bright, sparkly and different.

She chose O.P.I. - Gargantuan Green Grape and wanted Gellux - Silver Crystal over the top.

The result was gorgeous!

Gellux Yellow - TERRIBLE

A client wanted Yellow polish for her hols.

We used the Gellux one - I can't honestly tell you the colour as I binned it as soon as I got back.

It was HORRIFIC.

Don't get me wrong - the colour was lovely - but the finish was APPALLING. I popped the usual 2 layers on and it was wishy washy awful. Not a nice finish at all. It almost looked patchy. A problem I find with paler colours.

I've yet to find a White that has a nice complete finish as opposed to patchy thin yak I end up with.

Anyway - we added O.P.I. Which Is Witch over the top which hid the horrific finish and ended up looking OK.

I was gutted. I really liked the colour. No matter how much I shook that bottle, 3 layer later it just looked horrible.

Thunder Bolts of Lightening - very very frightening . . .

You know you sang that in your head. . . no? well, I did. Can't beat a bit of Queen.

Here is Bex's Lightening bolt nails.

She wanted something quirky - so I gave her quirky. She is facing her fears - Bex HATES Thunderstorms - so I decided to be mean and pop some lightening bolts. Nice, I know.

I used Gellux 'Wild Mink' Bundle Monster BM-305 plate and Sally Hansen Quick dry pens (make sure they do not have pen nibs, but rather the brush ends) in Silver and Konad special polish in black.

Toe Stamping

Jeez I love this design, I've had it on twice now. With the gel polish lasting approx 2 months I'm surprised I haven't sickened myself of it, but I simply LOVE it.

Here I have used Gellux 'Pink Cosmos' with O.P.I. 'Which Is Witch?' and Konad black special polish.

Stamping plate was Bundle Monster BM-314

French Stamping - Wedding guest

Wow - these went even better than expected.

I LOVE THEM!!

My client wanted a classic french look with a twist. She explained to me her dress was floral - so I already knew I would be using my old faithful Konad M65 plate on the ring finger. Everyone loves this and I never tire of doing it. It always gives fab results.

When she went on to explain her dress and brought it down to show me (a def bonus of being mobile is they always have their outfits there to compare colours) I decided to go with Konad's Gold special polish.

For the French I used O.P.I. Passion and Gellux Purely White.

Gellux Matching Finger and Toes with Stamping

My client was going to a Christening and had bought a gorgeous dress with a floral print on.

She wanted nails to match.

She chose the colour (Gellux Metallic Supernova range) and explained what the design looked like. I decided to go with the Konad M65 stamping plate teamed with their black special polish.

Here was the outcome - she was thrilled. Unfortunately the stamp plate is too small for a big toe (a problem I find with all the Konad plates for the full nail designs) so we decided to try it on the middle toe. 

Gel polish is useful for stamping, as I complete is as usual with the top coat - so once you put the design on - if you don't like it or mess it up, you can remove it with acetone free remover and the gel polish is left perfect.

Here is the picture she sent me with the dress. Albeit not the best as you can't see a lot of the design, but it does give the impression to looks good.

Gellux Galaxy

I bought all of the Gellux Metallic range and wasn't disappointed.

Here is the Galaxy colour with the Konad 'M64' stamping plate and Konad Black polish.

I'm not normally a floral kinda gal, but I really liked this.

Nail Art - Halloween

Typically all my nails snapped, just in time for my halloween nails, grrr.

Here I used Gellux black and Barry M nail art pens in black and white for detailing.

Barry M nail art pens are loony brilliant and dry instantly with very little - no smudge when you pop on the top coat. I've no idea what they are playing at though - they only have Black, White, Silver and Pink!! 

They really need to be bringing out more colours, especially when it is such a fab product, so here's hoping!

Very easy to do. Paint every digit Black except for ring finger which is White and cure. Add second coat and cure. With white pens, draw lines down each Black nail. With the Black pen, draw on spooky Jack face on white ring fingers. Wait a minute and cure on top coat. Bingo. THAT simple . . . 

O.P.I. Amazon Amazoff and Gellux Blue Diamonds

I decided to mix and match and used the two nails polishes together, and was really impressed with the results. The pictures don't do it justice - it was really sparkly and effective.

People commented on it, saying how unusual it was - until I told them it was two different makes together. I put two layers of the  O.P.I followed by two of the Gellux. What do you think?

Gelish 'A Petal For Your Thoughts' and Gellux 'Silver Crystal'

I am SO impressed with the Gelish range so far - and it comes off ridiculously easy, but lasts on the nails really well. I can't fault it. Even the darker Blue, almost Black colour comes off with ease. This colour - 'A Petal For Your Thoughts' literally came off in bit slices after soaking in acetone.

This client had these nails on when her fiancé proposed to her - she had an inkling, so wanted a really lovely colour to stand out. You may say, we NAILED it ;)
